The Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology presented Representative John Jagler (R-37) with the 2018 Legislator of the Year Award. This special recognition is made every session for the legislator who best helps advance the Academy’s mission to promote quality eye care in Wisconsin. This session, Representative Jagler championed the early prescription refill bill. The legislation allows patients to refill certain eye medications early to prevent them from running out of eye drops. This is particularly important to the thousands of patients across the state with chronic eye disease – such as glaucoma or dry eye.
